Government Sets Wheat Stock Limits � Effective Until March 31, 2026

The central government has issued a new order under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, setting stock limits on wheat effective immediately and valid until March 31, 2026. New Stock Limits: Traders/Wholesalers: Maximum of 3,000 metric tonnes Retailers: 10 metric tonnes per shop Chain Retailers: Total limit = Number of shops � 10 metric tonnes Processors: 70% of monthly processing capacity � remaining months of FY 2025�26 Mandatory Online Stock Declaration: All traders and processors are required to declare their wheat stock details on the government portal: foodstock.dfpd.gov.in This move is aimed at maintaining transparency in stockholding and ensuring price stability in the wheat market.
