Weather Update
The southwest monsoon has begun its retreat, with the current line of withdrawal passing through Sri Ganganagar, Nagaur, Jodhpur, and Barmer in Rajasthan. Conditions are now favourable for its further withdrawal from additional parts of Rajasthan, as well as some areas in Punjab and Gujarat, over the next two days. Northwest India is expected to witness light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms over Uttarakhand during the coming days. Meanwhile, eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to experience light rain consistently over the next three days. In West India, regions including Maharashtra, Konkan, and Goa are expected to receive light rainfall through tomorrow. In East and Central India, light to moderate rain along with heavy spells over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh is expected to taper off by tomorrow. Starting tomorrow, Jharkhand and West Bengal will begin to experience similar rainfall, which is likely to continue for the next three days. Bihar, on the other hand, is expected to see rain beginning two days from now. Over the next three days, several parts of Northeast India including Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are likely to see light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh is expected to receive heavier showers, particularly through tomorrow. North Interior Karnataka and Telangana are currently experiencing light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 km/h. These conditions are expected to ease by tomorrow. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu is likely to see similar weather starting tomorrow, with rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds continuing for the next three days.
