Despite all the efforts of the government, the price of tur dal remains strong, crossing Rs 12 thousand

Tur prices are not showing any signs of decreasing this year either. The rise in tur prices since the second half of last year is continuing this year also. This year the wholesale price of tur is Rs 11800-12000 per quintal. This month also the prices of tur have increased in the markets. Due to increase in the wholesale price of tur, the retail price of tur in the retail market has crossed Rs 200 per kg. There has been a rise in the prices of tur in the country's markets this month. In Akola, the main market of tur in Maharashtra, the wholesale price was Rs 10,700 to Rs 10,850 on April 1, which has increased to Rs 11,800 to Rs 12,000 per quintal on April 30. Due to increase in wholesale price, arhar dal became expensive in the retail market also. The effect of the rise in the prices of Pigeon pea in the mandis is also visible on its price in the retail market. According to the data of the Consumer Affairs Department of the Central Government, the average retail price of arhar dal increased from Rs 157 to Rs 170 in Delhi this month, from Rs 159.74 to Rs 167.63 in Maharashtra, from Rs 150.46 to Rs 157.02 in Madhya Pradesh and in Uttar Pradesh it increased from Rs 150.46 to Rs 157.02. Despite all the efforts of the government, the prices of arhar dal have increased. The supply of tur is weak as the production of tur has reduced. There has been a decline of about 10 percent in the import of arhar dal in the last financial year. Due to decrease in production, the availability of pigeon pea in the country is less. Hence the prices of pigeon pea are increasing. According to experts, the decrease in arrival of pigeon pea has also boosted the rise in its prices. According to the data received from Agmarknet, about 75 thousand tonnes of pigeon pea arrived this month, whereas last year in the same month this figure was about 92 thousand tonnes. Apparently, compared to last year, there has been a decline of about 18 percent in the arrival of pigeon pea this April.
