The paper recorded seismic charts over hundreds of years have faded and valuable scientific data collected over past decades are getting lost. Even best preserved paper charts are hard to locate as one has to shuffle a pile to get to the needed chart.

We felt there is need to retrieve the data contained in paper charts to a data base for quick retrieval and analysis, besides saving the valuable data from getting lost for ever.
At BKC we have developed an unique method of digitization of paper recorded analogue seismic charts. We digitized several thousands charts and archived the same for Indian Meteorological Department.
 Our own proprietary java based software has been developed to get automatically extract meaningful data out of the paper charts.
