Cyclonic circulations will keep producing light to moderate rain or snow with the occasional thunderstorms over Northeast India for several days. Rain or snow will intensify to produce heavy falls across the region from this weekend to early next week. A western disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region, causing isolated to scattered light rainfall/snowfall and hailstorms over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-GilgitBaltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from March 21-24. Isolated light rainfall is forecast in Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh for next 3-4 days. Light to moderate rains with localised thunderstorms over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during next 5-6 days. Light to moderate rainfall to continue over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh with isolated thunderstorms and lightning for next 24-48 hours. In West India, daytime temperatures are expected to rise with Konkan experiencing 40°C or more. It is predicted that South India and Rajasthan would see a similar trend. Heat wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets of Saurashtra-Kutch, southwest Rajasthan in upcoming 3-4 days.
